Generation Iris ("Iris," "we," "us") helps independent eye care practices find and fix problems in how their office runs. This policy explains what information we collect through generationiris.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you take the free checkup, fill out a form, buy a plan, or email us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and practice name
- Your checkup answers and the area of your practice you want help with
- Information about how your practice operates that you choose to share with us during your plan
- Anything you write to us in messages or emails
Please do not send us patient information. Iris works with practice-level numbers and processes, such as totals, percentages, and workflows. It is not designed to receive protected health information about your patients, so please leave names, dates of birth, and other patient details out of anything you send us.
Payment information
Payments are processed by our website platform, Squarespace, and its payment partners. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive basic order details, such as which plan you chose, the amount, and your billing name and email.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects basic technical information when you visit, such as the pages you view, your browser and device type, your general location based on your IP address, and how you arrived at the site. This is collected through cookies and similar tools from Squarespace and analytics services such as Google Analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How we use your information
- To give you your checkup results and build your practice plan
- To check in with you and your team during your plan
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To answer your questions and send you updates you asked for
- To send occasional emails about Iris, which you can unsubscribe from at any time
- To understand how people use our site so we can improve it
How we share your information
We do not sell your information. We share it only in these situations:
- Service providers who help us run Iris, such as our website host, payment processors, email tools, and analytics providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Partner companies that provide eye care practice software and services. We may share your contact details and the area of your practice you asked for help with, so a partner can tell you about tools that may help. You can ask us not to share your information with partners at any time by emailing us.
- Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Iris, our customers, or others.
- Business changes, if Iris is ever merged, sold, or reorganized, in which case your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email, or reply to tell us.
- Ask us not to share your information with partner companies.
- Ask to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you.
- Cancel your plan at any time. Your subscription renews monthly until you cancel.

California residents
If you live in California, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to ask us to delete it, and to ask us not to share it with partner companies. We will not treat you differently for making any of these requests. Contact us at the email above.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as you are a customer or as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no website or email service is completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive information you would not want shared.
Children
Iris is a service for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let current customers know by email.
